CDC Mask Requirement

face mask

Per the order of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), effective February 1st, 2021,  all passengers 2 years and older riding a Waukesha Metro bus must wear a face mask (or covering) while on the bus.   The face mask (or covering) requirement is also required when inside the Transit Center.   The face mask (or covering) should cover the passenger’s mouth and nose.   Passengers with a disability that prevents them from wearing a face covering are not required to wear a mask.   This mask order replaces the previous State mask order and lowers the age of required mask wearing to 2 years old.

Free face masks are available at the Transit Center office from 8 am to 5 pm Monday – Friday.   Face masks are also available on the bus as well.

If a passenger is not wearing a face mask/covering, the passenger will be offered a mask to wear.  If the passenger refuses, they will not be allowed to board the bus or remain in the Transit Center.

The face mask/covering requirement will remain in effect until further notice.  Waukesha Metro Transit urges all passengers to comply with the Face Mask Requirement.   If you have any questions regarding this requirement, please call the Customer Service line 262.524.3636.
