Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

A GIS is a computer-based information system that stores geographic data, and allows for the storage, analysis, management and visualization of that data. The data available on this site utilizes the City of Waukesha Geographic Information System (GIS), and provides up-to-date geographic information to the general public and to various departments throughout the City.

GIS Interactive Map Viewers

The City of Waukesha has developed several web applications based on GIS technology. These interactive mapping applications allow the user to search and browse for various types of geographic information throughout the city.

Please note that a broadband connection is recommended, and that loading times will vary depending on internet or network traffic and the time of day data is being requested.

Citywide Basemaps

These maps are currently available in PDF file format for viewing or download. Some maps are rather large files and it is recommended that a broadband connection is used if viewing them online. To see a full list of downloadable maps, visit the Citywide Basemaps page.
