Public Safety Cadets

Public Safety Cadets is a law enforcement organization for young men and women ages 14 to 21, who are interested in learning more about a career in law enforcement. We are sponsored by the City of Waukesha Police Department.

Members learn about law enforcement by attending meetings during the month. Each meeting is about 2 hours in length. At these meetings we:

  • Discuss current topics in law enforcement
  • Have training in police topics presented by professionals in all levels of law enforcement, including the:
    • Patrol Operations
    • Criminal Investigations
    • Forensics

Members receive training in:

  • Emergency first aid (including CPR)
  • Radio communications
  • Traffic control and more

Putting Training Into Practice

Members work with our police department to assist in community functions, and after reaching a certain level of training, post members can ride along in squad cars with police officers on patrol.
