Waukesha Unlocked will be held on Saturday, October 9 and Sunday, October 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in celebration of the City of Waukesha's 125th Anniversary.  

The City of Waukesha is excited to work with the community to showcase our businesses, properties and organizations through tours and activities. Each site can tell their own story, inspired by architecture, community, history or operations as we share all that the City has to offer.

We are currently looking for site hosts! More information below. 

Site Criteria

Sites wishing to be part of Waukesha Unlocked are asked to review the site criteria outlined below and submit a Site Application by Monday, April 12, 2021.

Preference will be given to sites that meet the following criteria:

  • Sites that are not usually open to the public or have areas usually not open to the public.
  • Sites that are open to the public but have some significant architectural features and/or have historical, social, as well as cultural significance to the City. 
  • Sites that can commit to opening their doors from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sites that are celebrating significant anniversaries.
  • Sites recognized by heritage, urban design, architectural awards, and/or historic designation.
  • Sites with significant original interior features and/or successful adaptive reuse features.
  • Sites representing the cultural diversity of Waukesha.

Site Selection

  • Sites must submit an online application by Monday, April 12, 2021.
  • Site participation decisions will be made by early June.  Selected sites will receive a link to the Waukesha Unlocked Participant Agreement form via email.
