Area 5 Flood Mitigation Project Phase 1

Project Update Sept 14, 2018 (Final Update)

This is the first phase of the flood mitigation project that is planned to alleviate the flooding issues at the intersections of Lawndale Avenue and S. Washington Avenue and S. Hine Avenue and Lawndale Avenue. The project includes the installation of storm sewer improvements along the project corridor. Along with the installation of a larger storm sewer, additional inlets are being added to collect the surface water in order to convey the water away from the area. The project also includes updating the handicap ramps at the intersections and resurfacing the roadway.

This week the contractor paved the roadway and worked on the grass restorations.

Next week, any remain grass and miscellaneous restorations will be completed.

THIS PROJECT IS COMPETE EXCEPT FOR SOME MINOR RESTORATION WORK AND PUNCHLIST ITEMS.

Phase 2 of the Area 5 Flood Mitigation Project along S. Moreland Boulevard and Dopp Street is being coordinated with another project being bid this year and is scheduled to be constructed in 2019.
