West Ave- Mountain Ave Sanitary Sewer & Water Main
West Ave- Mountain Ave Sanitary Sewer & Water Main Installation
Project Update: October 20, 2017
The contractor continues to work on water main and has completed water main installation in St. Paul Avenue. Although utility work in the intersection is complete, traffic control for one way lanes in each direction will remain in place until the contractor has completed permanent pavement restoration. Water main installation is currently progressing from St. Paul, towards the Fox River. However, sometime early next week, the contractor plans to move back to the Glenwood Avenue and West Avenue area to complete service installation / connections for sanitary sewer and water main. Although the river crossing has yet to be done, the priority will remain completing utility work in paved areas so that permanent pavement can be installed as soon as possible. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this project.
The West Ave to Mountain Avenue Sanitary Sewer and Water Main project is planned to begin during the week of August 28th. The project will include the replacement of water main and sanitary sewer as shown on the attached exhibit. For the residents on Glenwood Drive, street parking will be restricted due to the narrow width of the road, and access to private driveways will be very limited during the project. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience, and the following temporary parking options will be allowed during construction:
On the east side of N. West Avenue (400 thru 600 block) and either side of Park Avenue (400 block): The current parking restrictions will be lifted to allow for long term parking, including overnight. However please note, vehicles still must be moved every 72 hours (3 days).
On the west side of N. West Avenue, parking restrictions will remain the same.
There may also be temporary disruption of your water service during connections to the new water main, however you will be given prior notification. The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-November and we ask for your patience during this time.
